Clipsal begins new era at new Gepps Cross facility
Clipsal Australia has embarked on a new era of success with the relocation of its head office and manufacturing facility to a new $35M, 30,000 square metre state of the art facility at Gepps Cross, South Australia.
The new home of Clipsal is located at 33-37 Port Wakefield Road, employs over 800 staff and includes Clipsal administration, sales, marketing, manufacturing, logistics and support functions. The sprawling site also includes the offices of Schneider Electric Australia, Schneider Engineering Services, Citect, as well as a number of shared services for the Schneider Electric Pacific Zone, such as finance, purchasing, human resources and research and development.

The main office design makes great use of the natural light space provided by the atrium - all the way within the office perimeter. Work stations are organised in rows with each standard individual station occupying a generous space from 1.7m to 4m. Although open plan in layout, the office area is unique in the use of dividers, number of plants and geometrical lines to create distinctive areas within the office space.
“We have created a very open plan yet quiet workspace. The materials we have used have excellent insulating properties to keep noise levels down. The work stations are custom designed and allow us great flexibility to add new staff members or to relocate staff to new areas.”
The entrance features a communications tower in the shape of the famous red and purple “Clipsal bars”, centrally positioned behind the main reception desk. Behind the tower is a guest waiting area where visitors can sit and watch company product videos and access the latest information about the company.
Other highlights of the office interior include the many shared areas including coffee points and open meeting areas for staff, visitors and customers.
The 25 000 square metre factory and warehouse combines logistics and manufacturing areas under one roof. Extra wide walkways have been designed to facilitate more efficient workflows while open plan offices will have views of the entire industrial area to ensure quick support when needed.
