Clipsal Australia established its third satellite factory, Wingfield Fasteners, in 1989. In 1991 an Electroplating Plant was added and in 1994 a multimillion-dollar upgrade was carried out which included a state-of-the-art Press Shop in which all components needed in the metal press area are manufactured. The Wingfield Manufacturing Site, which is Quality Assured to ISO 9001, occupies 1,500 square metres, located on a one-hectare block and is staffed by more than 65 employees.
The Fastener section manufactures up to 350 types of Fasteners and a large range of springs, pins, rivets, plungers and nails, not only for use in Clipsal products, but for external customers, who also have access to Clipsal Wingfield's Electroplating facilities. This section also manufactures plates, conduit clips, wall boxes, mounting brackets. Each year the factory produces up to 380 million fasteners and many different types of brackets and clips, in which a large number of these are packaged and electroplated on site.
