Saving lives and healing them too
Tragically, burn injury is one of the top three causes of accidental death in children under five years of age in Australia.
The Julian Burton Burns Trust and leading electrical manufacturer Clipsal Australia are hoping to curb this statistic and have teamed up in a three year national partnership to help save lives.
For every Clipsal smoke alarm sold during the next three years, Clipsal will donate 50 cents per sale to the Julian Burton Burns Trust. The partnership program, ‘Bucks for Burns’ will feature prominently on product packaging and point of sale material in electrical wholesalers.
“We are extremely grateful for the partnership with Clipsal Australia,” Julian Burton OAM, CEO and founder of the Julian Burton Burns Trust said.
“Burn injuries are horrific. They are painful and disfiguring, especially for young children. Together with Clipsal we will be raising money for prevention programs, patient care services and research equipment. If your smoke alarm is more than 10 years old then it needs to be replaced. With the support of Clipsal, the Julian Burton Burns Trust is hoping to raise tens of thousands of dollars to help the one in every 100 Australians who suffer from burn injuries each year.
