Major Sponsorship
Below are some of the major sponsorships by Clipsal Australia
The Clipsal 500 V8 Super Car Race
The Clipsal 500 Adelaide, a round of the V8 Supercar Championship Series, is Australia’s largest national motor sport event.
The significance of the Clipsal 500 Adelaide as an event of true national and international recognition was highlighted in 2005 when the legendary motor sport authority, Murray Walker, while visiting the event for the first time, described it as the ‘best touring car event in the world’. Walker again attended in 2006, further stating that the event ‘was simply the best’.
While the Clipsal 500 Adelaide V8 Supercar race has experienced a relatively brief history, it is indeed an illustrious one that has propelled it to the number one position as Australia’s best major festival at the 2003/2004 and 2005 Australian Tourism Awards.
It has also won the prestigious V8 Supercars Australia (previously named AVESCO) Award as Australia’s best national motor sport event on seven occasions, and won five South Australian Tourism Awards, with the event being inducted into the State’s Tourism Hall of Fame in 2003.
A further testimony to the status of the event was its induction into the V8 Supercars Australia Hall of Fame at the end of the 2005 season. This is the first time in the history of the sport that an event has been inducted into the Hall of Fame, which is usually reserved for champion drivers.
Clipsal Australia is also well known as the naming rights sponsor of the hugely successful Clipsal 500 V8 Supercar Race, often referred to as ‘The Clipsal’, until 2015. It was during the 2007 event that Clipsal launched their major consumer campaign, ‘Living Electrical’, with the aim of reaching 150,000 consumers who will build a new home or renovate their existing home each year.
Sydney 2000 Olympics
Back in 1997 Clipsal signed one of its biggest sponsorship deals ever in which Clipsal became the Official Provider of Electrical Accessories and Building Automation to the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.
Being an official provider, the Clipsal C-Bus Energy Management System was chosen by SOCG (Sydney Organising Committee of the Olympic Games) to control lighting within the magnificent Olympic Games Stadium and Super Dome, and for street lighting around the Olympic Site.
