As a company and brand name Clipsal has continuously developed and evolved to meet the needs of commercial and domestic requirements.
Development in automation led to the formation of CIS (Clipsal Integrated Systems) in 2000, specialising in the manufacture of lighting and building automation and energy management systems. Since then CIS has grown rapidly, gaining widespread acceptance in major commercial and domestic markets. Today CIS employs more than 250 personnel.
Through extensive research and design CIS developed the C-Bus Energy Management and Control System back in 1994, and since then C-Bus has become the ‘benchmark’ of CIS’ product range. Initially, C-Bus was designed and manufactured for commercial application, however, due to increasing worldwide interest C-Bus has been adapted to suit the domestic market with the release of C-Bus DIN Rail Series and other associated products.
With the development of C-Bus for domestic applications, a new generation of products was born including Scene Master scene controller, C-Touch touch screens and Neo C-Bus switches.
The year Neo Range was launched in 2001 it won the Australian Electrical and Electronic Manufacturer’s Association (AEEMA) Award for Excellence in Commercialising Research & Development. In the same year, C-Bus took on the best of European technology to win the 2002 UK Electrical Product Award in the category of Contribution Towards Energy Saving.
In 2004 an ultra stylish range of switches named Saturn was released to complement C-Bus automation systems. Like Neo, this switch has been architecturally designed, featuring a glass fascia with push button operation. Since its release it has proven to be a great success and become the preferred switch used by consumers when installing C-Bus Systems.
This was a significant achievement against other established brands. C-Bus really proved its worth over competitor’s technology based on proven IP (intellectual property), superior performance, unique features and customer value.
C-Touch Colour Touch Screens
The new C-Bus Colour Touch Screen is a wall mounted, touch sensitive input device designed for easier recognition of functions and system navigation. The unit also includes a real time clock for automatic scheduling of events based on the time of day, week, month or year.
Wiser Home Control
The Wiser Home Controller seamlessly connects many different technologies such as lighting control, security, air conditioning, audiovisual equipment, media players, irrigation systems, motorised blinds and curtains, and a whole lot more, creating a seamless solution that the whole family can use and enjoy.

CIS Expanding
CIS continue to set new precedents by expanding the C-Bus Range. Developing and releasing products such as C-Bus Wireless Technology, Dynamic Labeling Technology, the Reflection Series, the Saturn Series, and Multi-Room Audio. Not only is the C-Bus product range extensive, but it also complies with ISO9001 Accreditation.
Multi Room Audio (MRA) has also proven to be a very successful product in the CIS Range winning, The 2007 Sound and Image Awards for Custom Installation Product Of The Year. MRA allows the user to distribute and designate audio throughout the entire home at the touch of a button using Clipsal’s DLT and Saturn switches.
