New cooker switches that rock! Improved 40/45A current carrying capacity.
The Clipsal 2000 Series and Classic 2000 Series Cooker Switches now feature a Clipsal Rocker style switch mechanism and the single pole version boasts a 45A load rating, the highest on the Australian and New Zealand markets.
According to new legislation, a switch needs to be installed within two metres of electrical cooking appliances. It also needs to be placed so that you don’t have to reach over the cooktop to operate it.
If a cooktop and oven are needed in the same area, a single switch can be used to protect them both. So, in addition to the single pole (45A 250V), a double pole (40A 500V) for multiple phase applications is also available. Both have the option of a neon indicator.
The new Rocker style switch mechanism gives this new Cooker Switch a much more stylish appearance and ensures that it blends well with other Clipsal 2000 & C2000 Series switches. It also has generously sized terminals that will easily accept 3x6mm2 or 1x16mm2 cables.
The perfect companion for Clipsal Cooker Switches are the socket and plug/lead products (2031VCS, 31VCS and 800CL). Together they allow cooking equipment to be installed just before the new owners arrive, to prevent damage or theft while building and decorating are still in progress.
