Alpha offers better lifestyle with C-Bus system

Inner city apartments have experienced an enormous development boom in Adelaide in recent years. In the South Australian capital, the South East corner of the city in the east end, close to Rundle Street, attracts many people who choose to live in the city.

In this context, no doubt the new 46 Alpha Apartments in Adelaide’s East End will be popular. Built at the Vaughan Place car park site off Frome St, the nine-storey development offers a complete lifestyle package. But the great location is not Alpha’s unique asset.

Developer Theo Samaras knows that in this market, made up of professional couples or singles with a busy career and social life, demand for technology that will enhance their lifestyle prevails.

“Customers are knowledgeable about the technology. It’s simple to use and it’s definitely the way to go”, said Mr Samaris.

Most of the 350sq metre apartments offer ultra contemporary design, prestige appliances, and the latest technology, including Clipsal’s C-Bus lighting automation system. Home automation specialists Automation Dynamics in conjunction with Nilsen Electric were contracted for this project.

In the living areas, track lights allow the 50-watt downlights to be positioned anywhere along its five metre length enable precise directional lighting.

The apartments feature the latest C-Bus wall switches throughout. Entry-level apartments on the lower floors use a combination of C-Bus Classic C2000 and Neo wall switches whereas the larger apartments and penthouses boast Neo wall switches only. Some penthouses even feature touchscreens for total control of the apartment’s lighting and network functions.

In the kitchen and living areas, lighting sequences will be reconfigured according to each resident’s personal preferences. Possibilities include a Welcome Home mode that turns on entrance lighting, heating or cooling and motorized curtains and a Goodbye scene, a single button function that shuts down any light or appliance left on.

Each C-Bus wall switch is also programmed to dim up or down when held down for 1.5 seconds.

“We wanted to set a new benchmark for Adelaide city living and to do that we had to give our residents the best,” said Mr Samaris.
