Clipsal Datacomms

Established in 1997, Clipsal Datacomms has surpassed all expectations to become a major player in Australia’s thriving data and communications industry.

When Clipsal Datacomms began, 20% of Clipsal’s traditional contractor database was familiar with structured data cabling. Today almost 80% of this contractor base is involved with communications and data cabling in some shape or form.

The diversity and depth of the Clipsal Datacomms range includes Category 5e and 6 products, Active and Fibre series, Voice and Patch by Exception equipment, cable management and system enclosures, patch panels, data outlets, cabinets, cables and accessories and StarServe.

Clipsal StarServe was released in the early 90’s and is an economical way of distributing Pay TV, DVD/VCR, Free to Air TV and security cameras to any location in the home using Cat 5e or Cat 6 Data Cable. The new StarServe Video Distribution Units combine these video services along with telephone, Internet and facsimile signals in one easy to install compact unit. A security system interface also caters for Mode 3 security connection. Clipsal Datacomms also specialises in Master Antenna Television Systems (MATV) with a comprehensive range of amps, splitters, and components for every size installation.

Clipsal Datacomms is emerging as a leader in education, training and post-installation support for the data industry. Testing courses are available, including a UTP Testing Workshop and a Fibre Optic Testing Course.

2006 turned out to be a very successful year for Clipsal Datacomms. Their Titanium Range of data cabinets not only won The Australian Design Awards but also won the AEEMA Award for Outstanding Achievement in Australian Electrical Manufacturing.

The award was presented to Clipsal Datacomms on merits of its Clipsal Titanium range of Free Standing and Wall Mounted Cabinets manufactured at Clipsal’s Bayswater facility in Victoria.

As quoted by the AEEMA Judging Panel 2006, "the sophistication and design features of this product system provides an excellent example of how Australian electrical manufacturers are adding electronics and clever design to increase value of a core product such as an electrical enclosure".
